The caterpillars of this species are white with brown stripes, and have a yellow head and thorax. The tail-spike is long and black, and curves forwards. The true legs are black and the prolegs are yellow with black tips.

The adult moths have dark brown forewings with a pale patch in the middle. They have hindwings that are an even darker brown each with two white patches.
