Endotricha pyrosalis

The adults of this species have forewings that are half orange and half red. Their hindwings are also pale orange with a red rear margin. Underneath they are brown with a broad dark margin.

The moths rest naturally in a flat triangular pose, with the head lifted high and the tail low, like a Concord aircraft about to take off. They have a wingspan of about 2 cms.

This species has been found in:

  • Australian Capital Territory,
  • New South Wales,
  • Queensland,
  • South Australia,
  • Tasmania, and
  • Victoria.
