The adult moths have brown or grey wings with three imcomplete dark bands across each wing. The forewings have recurved wingtips and wavy margins. The labial palps are long, and are usually held pointing forward.

The species occurs in south-east Australia, including:

  • Australian Capital Territory,
  • South Australia,
  • Tasmania, and
  • Victoria.
