This species is found in mangrove habitats. The caterpillars have been found feeding on the foliage of a variety of Mangrove trees, including those from the genera:

  • Avicennia ( ACANTHACEAE ),
  • Excoecaria ( EUPHORBIACEAE ),
  • Xylocarpus ( MELIACEAE ), and
  • Rhizophora ( RHIZOPHORACEAE ). P>

    The adult moth of this species is grey and/or pale brown with variable complicated darker markings. The wingspan is about 4 cms.

    The species has been found across south-east Asia, including :

  • Hong Kong,
  • India,
  • Indonesia,
  • Singapore,
  • Taiwan,
    and in Australia in:
  • Australian Capital Territory,
  • New South Wales,
  • Queensland, and
  • Northern Territory.
