These Caterpillars have been known to feed on:

  • Kauri ( Agathis species, ARAUCARIACEAE ),
  • Kudzu ( Pueraria species, FABACEAE ),
  • Cowpeas ( Vigna unguiculata, FABACEAE ),
  • Para Grass ( Brachiaria species, POACEAE ), and
  • Rice ( Oryza sativa, POACEAE ).

    The adult moth is brown with dark bands across each wing. The wingspan is about 4.5 cms.

    The species is found in the south-west Pacific region, including :

  • Fiji,
  • Hawaii,
  • New Zealand,
  • Society Island,
  • United Kingdom,
    and in Australia in
  • Queensland.
