The adult moths of this species are brown with two white lines across each forewing. There is an eyespot with an elliptical white line around it at the tornus of each forewing. tornus. There is also a diagonal white line across each hindwing. The forewings also each have a pale tapering submarginal band, which is absent in the similar Grammodes oculata. The wingspan is about 3 cms.
