The caterpillars of this species feed on the vine:

  • Pycnarrhena novoguineensis ( MENISPERMACEAE ).

    The adult moths have patterned brown forewings, and yellow hindwings that have broad black margins. The abdomen is yellow with a black hairy tip. The female has a green slash on each forewing. The wingspan is about 9 cms.

    The adult moths attack fruit, damaging them in order to suck the juice.

    The species occurs in north Queensland.

    The caterpillars are attacked by a wasp:

  • Euplectrus melanocephalus ( EULOPHIDAE ).
