The adult moths of this species are pale brown with a variety of markings, Sometimes they have a broad pale marginal band. Sometimes they have a large dark patch in the middle of each forewing. The forewings each have a hooked apex.

The species has been found in :

  • Burma, and
  • India.
    There is controversy about whether the Australian subspecies Hulodes donata is distinct.
    It is found in
  • Queensland.
