The Caterpillars of this species are brown with raised edges to the body segments, resembling the scale-like leaves of their foodplant.


The adult moths have forewings that are dark brown with red and white markings.

The eggs are laid singly. They are finely dimpled, oval and orange.

The species occurs in Tasmania.
